Bookcases are not only for books. They are also used for displaying knicknacks and treasured goods. There are so many different shapes, sizes and designs of bookcases you can get from lots of different places like Here for example. This bookcase I got from my local flea market for only $10. It wasn’t always this color. I painted it white to match my josephine desk. But I always felt it was missing some style.
I’m ziggy for zigzags….This eye catchy chevron gift wrap paper caught my eye. It was a steal at Homegoods for only $2.99. I knew it would be perfect to give my bookcase a slight makeover.
Start clearing everything off the shelves and start new. That’s how I attempt to style my bookcase or any space.
It was easy… as… can… be… to install the gift wrap paper. I measured the opening of the bookcase. Then cut my paper to fit. Using doubled sided tape helped to secure the paper to the bookcase.
”Let’s get styling.” My way of doing things when I style my space is very simple. Showcase the items that you love. As far as my books, I like to remove the dust covers off. Then I group them by color and size. If you feel it’s missing something shop goodwill, thrift stores, yard sales etc to complete the look.
I like to group objects in odd numbers on my bookcase. Vases, small boxes, pottery you name it display it. #myrules
My lovely new josephine desk doesn’t have much storage space. I had to get creative with storing my office supplies. On one of my trips to Ikea I purchase these storages boxes. They’re perfect for all of my supplies.
My $3 Tjmaxx find was placed on the wall. I spray painted it white to contrast with my navy blue walls. Perfect accent for my office.
Overall, I LOVE…..how my bookcase turned out. I hope ya’ll like it to!
Happy Styling 🙂
