I’ve been invited by Keitha ”The Bajan Texan” to participate in The Tour Through BlogLand Series. Essentially, it’s a virtual tag you answer 4 questions about yourself and your blog. Then you lead us into your home and give us a virtual tour of your home or blog. It’s a wonderful way to get to know your favorite bloggers and tour their homes. You can see what new projects their working on. I was tagged by Keitha ”The Bajan Texan.”
This is Keitha! with “The Bajan Texan” and her two precious ”Twincesses” Jordyn and Peyton. First, I want to say Keitha is SIMPLY AMAZING……… How many people do you know who graduated with 3 bachelor’s degrees of arts, and a masters degree in clinical psychology from a college at the ripe age of 20.
”WAIT”! I’m not done! And… she’s a wife, an amazing mom who works outside of the home. WOW! I’m so delighted to (virtually) know her. Keitha’s very talented in the department of home decor, DIY’s, organizing, party planning and giving excellent tips and ideas for your home.
”About Meee…!” I’m a city girl with a country flare. Born and raised in Long Island N.Y. Currently, I reside in the the Sunshine State with my retired Marine Hubby and my 15 year old son. I work outside of the home. My love is to create, inspire, decorate, coupon, and entertain in that order. Just kidding! But yes, I LOVE doing it all. Most of all I truly get much gratitude in making a difference in someone’s life.
Do you see that amazing focal point wall? Here’s a tour. I came across one of Keitha’s YouTube videos on her pantry organization video and in the background, I saw….this beautiful… dining room. It’s clean and neutral. The area rug under the table is the perfect color. Isn’t it beautiful…
”Come on in”! This is my front entry way. I’m not big on lot’s of color but I like to have a little drama. Recently, I gave my front interior doors a makeover to liven it up.
Neglected, to say at the least. This is what it look like before. So…sad… right! I’m a believer that your entry way should be a great first impression. It sets the tone for the rest of the home.
Here’s my family room /great room. Very neutral, tone on tone. We added 20 ft stationary panels for more drama
Be My Guest! This is one of two guest bedrooms in our home. It often gets mistaken for our master suite. We want our guest not to feel like a guest. We rather they feel at home. The room is filled with guest bedroom essentials.
In the guest quarters. Below the 50″ t.v. is a chair and desk for guest to sit and write if they choose. Inside the desk are some essentials our guest may have forgotten at home.
We are HUGE…on entertaining. Spending time with our family and friends is such a big part of what we love to do. Here’s an example of how we welcome our guest for an Easter Brunch.
I forgot to mention. I love turning someone else’s “Trash To Treasure” Yeap! This was headed to the trash and I saved it. It’s now my new console table in my family room. I love when a DIY comes together.
1. WHAT AM I WORKING ON?
I’m always…always…working on at least 3 projects at a time. At the moment, I have a few collaborations on YouTube coming up. My most current project is giving my $8 flea market find a makeover.
2. HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM OTHERS IN IT’S GENRE?
Being that I coupon, blog, YouTube video’s and working outside the home 48 hrs a week on top of being a wife and mom. I still feel I can do more. All year I donate my monetary overages, along with food items from my stockpile to my family members, churches, homeless community. Who’s ever in need they get. I’m blessed to have the knowledge to learn how to coupon. I like to use my abilities to help others.
3. WHY DO I WRITE/CREATE WHAT I DO?
I love sharing my ideas and tips. Not everyone can afford to hire a designer to decorate their home. I certainly can’t. So, I enjoy helping others to do so on a budget. If I can make a difference in one person life it really makes my day and pushes me forward to help people make a lifestyle change.
4. HOW DOES YOUR WRITING/CREATING PROCESS WORK?
Inspiration is the root of it all. Any object, color, and even sometimes people inspires me to write. I never really plan anything. I get busy with moving and placing things with being mindful of practicality and function. Most of all style.
I nominate Cherie from ”LiveLoveLatte.” This mother/daughter duo are two of a kind. They not only have a blog, but they also do YouTube videos on organization, crafts, and awesome party planning ideas. Sicily is an amazing young lady! She aspires to become a professor, an author and/or own her own tea shop.
Cherie and I are not strangers to one another. I did my very first YouTube collaboration with her on ”How To Throw A Crab Boil Party”. Our second collaboration was with three other fabulous women on ”Progressive Dinner Party Ideas”? I learned alot from my friend. She’s been with me from the beginning. Thank you Cherie!
”Holy command center!”. With our busy lives this is perfect for large families who are on the go. This command center drew me in. This is Cherie’s entryway from her garage. This is the perfect place for a command center when everyone enters and exits.
My other nominee is Tamela with ”Haute on Design. Tamela is a fabulous interior designer who’s from ”Go Big Or Go Home” Texas. She’s all about style, class, and sophistication. What I love about her is she not only tells you what’s in her spaces she educates you. She also reveals some mind blowing interior designers secrets. I certainly have learned alot from her. Thank you Tamela!
Here’s Tamela’s family room Okay… Pick up your jaw…. Isn’t it beautiful. This space among other spaces in her home really got my attention. She shows and explains decorating with white accessories for the summer. It ”says….class” all the way.
You all know how much I LOVE white accessories. On her bookcase she showcases her collection. The contrast against the dark wood really stands out. Just beautiful.
ENJOY YOUR TOUR!
