Did you all have a wonderful Christmas?
Mine was the greatest…. Lot’s of food, fun, gifts, good company and most of all spending time with my family. In keeping with our tradition. I love making a BIG…Breakfast on Christmas morning. I want to share with you what I’ve been up to.
Nothing is better than waking up to a warm house with soft Christmas music playing, the smell of fresh coffee, and breakfast cooking. UMMM….GOOD!
As you can see I laid out a small spread. This could not happen without prepping first. The night before I placed platters, dishes, cutlery etc…making sure everything I need was out and ready to go.
Santa on the bike of course took center stage on the kitchen Island. I got him from the flea market for $12. You all know I had to haggle the seller down from $25.
My baby sister and her family came down from up north for the holidays. With adults and 6 children, my creativity kicked in quickly. First on my to-do- list is to make it very special for my nieces and nephews. After all it’s Christmas!
Christmas is the perfect excuse for children to indulge in something savory and sweet. Knowing they are the most pickiest eaters in the country…I knew they all LOVED pancakes. I didn’t want to make just any old pancakes I wanted something fun with different characters and shapes.
Making the shapes were simple. All I used was a cookie cutter to make shapes. I heated my grittle then, placed the cookie cutters on my griddle poured batter into the different shapes. Easy peezy!
World Market had the cutest red vintage- style metal kitchen scale. It was on sale and I had to have it.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and I will be seeing you next year…….
