Get your Dining Room magazine ready. This year we’re hosting Thanksgiving at our home which isn’t nothing unusual except, we gave our Dining Room a little makeover and we did it on a budget.
Here’s the before of our living and dining room. It wasn’t bad before, it was just dark.
First paint! Warm taupe/grey’s were added to the walls. It’s such an inexpensive way to change the entire look of any space. Crown Molding was a must have for the space. It can change the entire look and feel of a room. Installers were hired to get the job done right. You can save money by painting it yourself. The cost was $200 for labor.
”Rustic Glam Fall Tablescape” is the look I was going for. You can save by purchasing seasonal items ”off season” and just use them for the next year. That’s what I’ve done here. Natural elements such as magnolia garland, pine cones, faux pumpkins and silver deer antlers mixed with bling and shine adds a lot of interest. The Faux Fur Table Runner made the perfect bed for it all!
Gold Rimmed Dishes, are from Homegoods. Walmart had the popular and timeless Gold Flatware. Pewter charges is a nice mix of metals. Michael’s 70% off on seasonal items.
Lien Captain Chairs, were purchased from Homegoods. They were both under $250 each. It was a bit of a splurge but it was worth every penny! The nail head detail with a curved back adds a little flair to the space. A lumbar pillow was added for some extra back support .
Our china cabinet is ready for entertaining. This time of the year is very busy for me. Around Thanksgiving we will be having guest passing thru at moments notice and I need to be ready. If you want to see a tour of my China Cabinet Essentials click right HERE!
