Give your blank wall a breath of chic design by adding this DIY Ikea Hack Wall Planter. Last Monday, out and about with my mom, we stumbled across a new Christian Thrift Store. Well it was not so much new, but….it was new to us. In the back on their display shelf I spotted some very familiar looking pots. Oh….Yeah! ”Ikea”.
Ikea Asker Ceramic Pots, I’ve always been a huge fan of them. They’re sleek and multifunctional. Normally it’s used for kitchen utensils organization. Love the concept and the idea of hanging them on a rail on your kitchen. Ideal for small spaces. Today was a super score because it’s 50% off yellow tags. Whoop-Whoop!
Unfortunately, Asker Utensil Holders are no longer available at Ikea. Don’t give up just yet! I found something similar HERE!
First thing come to mind I needed a rod to hang these babies. I knew it needed to be a drapery rod. No cookie cutter rods here. This rod had a a rustic feel and a cool curve to it. It’s adjustable so you can make it as long as you want. The bronze S hooks came with them. You can easily buy S hooks and simply spray paint them gold or even copper.
Five solid minutes and a few supplies is all you need. Craft board (Home Depot) hammer, ruler drapery rod is 51/2 in diameter 28in-48in, 71cm-122cm (your choice) wall hangers, screw driver or drill.
Suggestion: Before you mount the drapery rod. Attach the wall hanger on first. If the rod is on while doing this step it will be harder to attach the wall hanger. Believe me! I’m going to leave it at that…lol!
Place your rod on the center of the board. Use your ruler or a level to make sure both sides are even, then add your screws and hang.
Asker Utensil Holder, are ideal for succulents, herbs, office supplies, crayons, pens, etc… The flush mount back looks amazing up against the wall. The possibilities are endless. Have a fantastic weekend 🙂
