When it’s time to wrap a gift, or make a craft. My friend recently bought her son a huge toy tractor since kids play with toys, he loved it but it took her ages to wrap. I told her to make this craft station, especially since she has kids, she’ll be wrapping toys all the time! Do you spend more time gathering supplies than wrapping the gift or making the craft itself? If yes! You need this in your life!
A Ladder Shelf……
My solution for having a gift wrap/craft area is using this Ladder Shelf by RiverRidge. I purchased this ladder from the flea market for only $8. Having an entire room dedicated just for your crafts, gift wrapping etc would be wonderful. Especially, if you’re short on space. Many of us may not have the room or space to have a room as such. This could would work in any space.
This ladder shelf would do the job for several reasons. It’s narrow and tall. It can fit in any corner of your home. It’s perfect for small spaces. You can even use it for bathroom storage, hanging towels and displaying your items.
For the most part I’m pretty organized. Except…. all of my gift wrapping, tape, gift tags, ribbon is not in one designated area. Shocking right!
Although, it came with dowels. I wanted to change mine out for my needs. I had the hubster drill a hole in the ladder so I can add an extra dowel (see the hint of gold I spray painted). You can get dowels from any craft/hardware store. I’m using it to hang pretty tissue paper.
My gift wrap paper storage idea was to use a trash can. Don’t worry it’s brand new.
Personalize: Do you see the hints of gold….I spray painted the hardware drawer pulls, on my washi tape dispenser, and storage box.
Supplies: Gift bags are hung on a command hook. This is quick and easy access. I get to see the pretty gift bags.
Tools: Scissors, tape, pens, and tags have a special compartment. I found these storage units from Michael’s for 1/2 off after Christmas on top of an extra 10% military discount. YES PLEASE! It’s by Recollections. They accommodate all of your crafting tools and storage needs.
Mason Jars can also be used as storage. My markers and colored pencils have the perfect home.
Ikea Ribba Picture Ledge, is used to hold my growing collections of acrylic paints.
Storage: These cute polka dot boxes are from HomeGoods. Perfect for clutter control, storing odds and ends, and left over scrapbook paper.
Craftsman tool tote, is my little helper around the house. It has compartments for all of my crafting tools and supplies. It can also be use for filofaxes, planners, and mani pedi storage.
