Decorating, our guest bedrooms has been so much fun. It’s a place where you can totally release your creativity. With unexpected guess arriving at our home on any given time. I always make sure they are as comfortable as much as possible.
Twin beds in this guest bedroom was a conscious choice I made due to the fact of how big our family is. Two beds offer each guest their own personal space and no one is stuck sleeping on the couch. OUCH!!!!
Teal was a color that stood out to me. I love different shades of blues and greens. I purposely made sure that the color scheme didn’t match the rest of my home. The flea market find headboards were $5 each. They were an oak color with a little elbow grease I painted them white. I was tempted to do some more DIY after seeing this toildrop article but I decided to save that for the future when I glampt up another bedroom. Above the headboard I painted a white stripe down the middle of the headboard for some contrast and drama. The sunburst blingy mirror was a Family Dollar find for $10 each.
The area rug was purchased from RUGSUSA.COM. They often have nice size area rugs at a reasonable prices.
Guest Room Essentials, are a must. I talked about it in the past toiletries, tooth brushes, deodorant, razors, etc. Have theses necessities ready for your guest. This way they don’t have to ask you.
Fresh bedding….it’s always nice to climb into a fresh clean comfortable bed. The duvet covers and accent pillows are from Homegoods. Inside the duvet are down comforters. This works well because they are easy to clean. If you don’t want to iron, Downy wrinkle release removes wrinkles easily and it smells amazing.
Having a luggage rack or bench can save your guest from bending over each time they need something out of their suitcase.
Seating, is always good to have for your guest. They have a place to put on their shoes. This accent chair was a Tjmaxx find a few years ago.
This mirrored chest was a Tjmaxx find as well. Dresser drawers need to be empty so guest have a place to store their things.
Extra pillows and blankets should be left in the room in case your guest may have different sleep patterns. Extra towels a bedside Lamp & Clock are helpful to guest in case they want to read in bed and keep track of time.
Tech Station will be an awesome convenient for your guest. Having a entourage of modern technology they will need to charge their devices. Blank note cards are also placed in the room.
Spare key, equals freedom for your guest to come and go as they please.
WiFi passwords are placed inside this blingy picture frame and I printed out off my computer. If you don’t want a flashy frame you can also print out or write the passwords down then laminate.
Blackout curtains are a must for two reasons in my home. It helps with the heating and cooling bill. Second it provides extra privacy, and for the ones who are not morning people ( like myself ) they would appreciate this.
