In our home the kitchen is the most used room. Summer is on the way and it’s about that time for lot’s of gatherings, and backyard BBQ’s. Having an organized kitchen in a way that works for you can help cooking go so much easier. I want to share with you how I created zones to ensure my kitchen runs smooth and efficent.
Cooktop Station Zone
This drawer is next to my cooktop. It’s where I keep my most used utensils. My bulky utensils are kept in this Utensil Mason Jar I purchased from World Market last year. Placing bigger utensils in a jar or a pitcher or even a vase free’s up valuable drawer space. This works well for cramped kitchens or small space living areas.
Kitchen tools in this drawer are placed here on purpose. The sharper knives, electric knives are here so when we cook, roasts, etc…. the carving tools are at easy reach.
The blue liner inside the drawer is a customizable drawer organizer by Drawer Decor. It’s a silicone mat that you can cut and customize to fit any drawer and they also com in different colors. Divitz are used to hold and secure the items and prevents them from sliding. The divitz three sizes long, short, and triangled.
Inside the island…
Dish cloths, kitchen and tea towels are here….
Oven gloves, pot holders, and my drying pad is also kept here.
Occassional serving spoons are placed here away from our everyday spoons.
Plastic wrap and paper goods are stored in this drawer next to the fridge. It’s easier to make lunches and wrapping leftovers. The paper napkins and plastic silverware is also here. It’s for those lazy days when I don’t feel like cooking or washing dishes.
My flatware storage is next to the dishwasher for making off loading easier. Not to mention it helps with staying organized.
