Linen Closet Organization

Linen closet Organization

Organizing ….that should have been my first name. I get such satisfaction out of purging and organizing my linen closet. Getting rid of things, I don’t use or need and making room for things, I do need is so refreshing. My first task is to empty the closet completely so I can have fresh set of eyes on my goal.

closet maid sliding basket

ClosetMaid has a sliding basket that you can attach to your existing wire shelving. Ahhhh… how nice. It was super easy to install, and its a great way to maximize my storage space. Here I’m housing wash cloths and pillowcases.

Storage boxes

On the top shelf, I have a few storage boxes, I got from Tjmaxx for only $5.50 each on clearance. Thanks Maxx! Next to my boxes, I have out of season blankets and a throw blanket for chilly nights.

essentials in my linen closet

With all the room in my linen closet, I have room to play :). My hubby’s shoe shine kit looks great on the shelf. His wood bowl and spoon he uses for his shaving cream. The burlap sack was purchased from Michael’s craft store. Three in a pack for $3.00. I have cedar blocks inside the burlap sack to keep the freshness in and moths out. The wood platter was a cheese platter that I had forever…. Now, I can put it to use.

Energy savings quick dry bath towels

These towels are the best thing since slice bread. What….Yeap! I purchased these Energy Saving quick dry bath towels from JCPenny’s a few years ago. They reduce the drying time up to 30% over cotton towels. I can put five towels in my HE dryer and it will take 7 min to dry.

Toilet paper storage

”I love, love, love, this wire basket”! Got this from Ross for $16.99. It holds my toiletry supplies so you can see when its needs to be replenished. It’s HUGE and it fits perfectly into my linen closet. Oh… did I mention that ”I love it”.

Stackable Baskets

My stackable basket I got from Ross for $6.99 each. I keep my cleaning products and trash can bags here. Where? The white container you see is a wipes container I re-purposed for my trash can bags.

Slacks hanger used to hang linens

Slack Hangers are not only for the obvious but, I use mine to hang my shams and pillow cases.

Organized Linen Closet

    Some of my tips:

  •  Purge
  •  Use baskets
  •  Use every square inch of your shelving
  •  Divider brackets helps to keep things in order
  •  Use clear containers and vases its not only functional and pretty but you can  easily see when you need to restock your items
  •  Try to limit 2 sets of bed sheet for each bed in your home

Hope these tips and ideas will inspire you to be creative and organized!
