As, a New York native I’ve had my fair share of cold weather, bilzzard’s shoveling snow up to your thighs. UMMM….No! I don’t miss it at all. Lately here in the Sunshine State it’s been in the mid 70’s. Exception… last Saturday my lips were frozen. Today it’s 74 degrees. I also know how it can make you feel. I can share a few tips that will help get you thew the winter blues.
Fresh flowers is a inexpensive way to bring a little nature and color inside your home. It sounds iffy but…it’s true. You don’t have to go to a fancy flower shop to get them. Go to your local grocery store. Prices range from $3.99- $19. These beautiful Lavender Tulips cost $6.99. It’s a small price to pay for your happiness.
Place your fresh flowers into a pretty vase. Which brings me to share with you my Thrifty Find of the day. Check your local home store, Goodwill, Homegoods (Clearance Section) and get a cool vase. I scored the taller vase with the tulips inside from Homegoods for $8. The regular price was $19.99. It was missing the lid but…it’s okay. Because look how awesome my tulips look inside it RIGHT!!!
The little Blue Apple Jar is from Bombay. Get this….it was $3 from Goodwill regular price $25. Bombay is out of business now 🙁 So, I’m blessed to have this little baby. Hey…! I’m going stash some mini Reese’s Pieces inside. That will keep me extra happy.
Now that you have your pretty flowers and cool vase. Place them in your favorite space where you love to hangout at. Grab a cozy blanket play a few games or get cozy on the couch and watch a few movies and hopefully this will get you threw those winter blues.
Tell me how do you cope with the ”Winter Blues”
Stay warm ya’ll! 🙂
